Google has started rolling out its Go Search app globally for all users, which was specially designed for low-end devices. The Go Search app is actually the lite version of the Google Search app and is very fast despite being the only 7MB. The app was already available in some countries and has now been rolled out globally on the Play Store for all.
The Google Go app can be installed on Android devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and any OS beyond it. Apart from giving search results, this app also remembers search results to provide a better experience. Integrated Google lens was also shown in the app in the demo shown at the I / O 2019 conference. Like Google Lens, text can be read or translated with the help of this app by placing it in the camera frame. You can also search directly with the help of a camera. The app can speak and hear the text appearing in the camera.
The app that speaks text
The rollout of this Lite app for all users was informed by the company’s CEO Sundar Pichai while sharing a blog on his Twitter account, in which this app has been told. Let me tell you, another great feature of Google Go is that with its help, the text of websites can be heard on the speaker. The app has an AI-powered read-out-loud feature, which allows the app to listen to the highlighted text from the user on the website like audio by speaking to the app.
